ST. PETER – A North Mankato man faces four felony counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct for allegedly having sex with a 10-year-old girl.34-year-old Patrick Jay Sullivan declined to talk to investigators about the charges made by the young girl.
North Mankato police say they first learned of the allegations by the girl’s mother in early December. A week later police and a child protection worker interviewed the girl who described “10 to 20” incidents that happened in her bedroom, at night, when her mother wasn’t home.
The girl couldn’t say when it all began, but told investigators she believed the last contact was in July 2010.
One of the felony charges against Sullivan alleges the use of “force or coercion.” The victim claims Sullivan told her to “shut up” during the assaults. She also told investigators that Sullivan threatened her, saying she’d get “beat real bad” if she told anyone.
She also believed she would be killed by Sullivan.
