MANKATO – Nine felony counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct have been filed against a Mankato man accused of molesting three girls ages 14, 12 and 6.A warrant was issued for the arrest of Thomas Jay Will II and he was expected to appear in Blue Earth County District Court late Monday afternoon in Mankato.
According to the criminal complaint, a Mankato police detective and a Blue Earth County child protection investigator interviewed the 12 year-old girl on February 24 at a Mankato school.
During that interview she said Will used to live at their residence and last summer she woke up to find him kissing her and was on her. The girl informed investigators her parents would leave Will in charge when they were not there.
Police would then interview a 14 year-old girl who claimed Will would fondle her over her clothing. She said Will would ask “really creepy questions” and was a “disgusting person.”
Investigators say the 6 year-old claimed Will touched her “10 to 20” times when she would sit on his lap.
When Will talked to detectives, he claimed he didn’t “really touch them under their pants or anything.”
According to police accounts of Will’s statement, he eventually admitted to touching the breast of the 14 year-old. According to the criminal complaint Will allegedly said “When it happened I wasn’t even thinking about it.” He then changed his story to intentionally touching the girl “maybe about 3 times.”
The criminal complaint also says he admitted to kissing the 12 year-old girl and touching her while she slept “7 or 8 times.”
When it came to the 6 year-old victim Will told detectives the he did not remember any incidents that he touched her. But he allegedly added that “if she said it I must have done it.”
Detectives also they the spoke to an adult male who reported receiving a text message from Will saying he was jealous the male was able to hang out with the girls because they were at an age when they “hang all over you.”
The criminal complaint gives no real time frame for when the allegations took place, However each criminal count says they happened "In or before February 2011."
