Minnesota Unemployment Dips Again
MANKATO -- Minnesota's unemployment continues to fall and the number of jobs is on the rise.
March unemployment was at 6.6 percent, down 0.1 percent from February. The national seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for March was 8.8 percent.
At the same time, Minnesota gained 2,800 jobs in March, while February job gains were revised upward from 300 to 1,600 new jobs.
Leisure and hospitality led all sectors in growth, adding 1,900 jobs. Education and heald services were up 1,500 and construction added 1,200 jobs in March.
Professional and business service sector was the big loser in March, shedding 1,200 jobs.
In Mankato, over-the-year (OTY) employment figures show a gain of 600 jobs over the last twelve months. That's up 1.1 percent.
