New Public Safety Center On Council Agenda

MANKATO – The Mankato City Council tonight will vote on a plan to build a combined Public Safety Center.

The facility would include the remodeling of the current public safety center for both police and fire.

Tonight’s resolution will include authorizing architects to prepare “scope of work documents” and to take bids on a construction manager.

A planned third fire station in Mankato will also take a step forward tonight.

The city council will be asked to approve a purchase agreement for property near Augusta Drive. The resolution also calls for the closure of Fire Station 1 on Madison Avenue when the new Station 3 is completed.
