MANKATO – Minnesota National Guard Units from Mankato and New Ulm have once again been called up for a year-long deployment to Iraq.
Mankato’s 2nd Battalion, 135th Infantry and New Ulm’s 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery units are part of the First Brigade Combat Team.
The last time they were sent to Iraq four years ago, they became the longest-serving unit in the war.
