Rural Intersection Conflict Warning Systems Deployed

MANKATO (TEC News), December 10 – Rural Intersection Conflict Warning Systems was deployed by MnDOT recently at rural intersections across the state. These will offer real-time warnings about oncoming traffic. These were implemented to reduce fatal and injury crashes.

The first warning system in Mankato/Windom MnDOT District 7 located at Highway 15 and Nicollet County Road 5 near Klossner should be running by mid-December.  This intersection has experienced 10 crashes over the past ten years (2003-12).

Plans are also in place for a RICWS to be installed at Highway 60 and Blue Earth County Road 20 in 2014
