MADD Panel Conducts Survey; Results Saddening

MANKATO (TEC News), November 13 – According to a survey nationwide of adults 21 and older, drinking and driving has become somewhat of an issue around the holiday season. Jennifer Freeburg, Mothers Against Drunk Driving State Executive Director says that it’s well above 50 percent:
The MADD panel as well as law enforcement around the state are encouraging people to make a plan ahead of time to stay safe on the roads.
They “have been at an event and seen someone try to drive home after drinking too much.” How did these people say they’d handled these situations in the past?
  • 46% drove the person home themselves
  • 41% took away their keys
  • 40% told the party host
  • 25% called them a cab
  • 19% did nothing
  • 13% other
  • 2% called law enforcement
