Be Mindful of Farm Equipment

MANKATO (TEC News), September 26 – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is advising motorists to be mindful of large farm equipment this fall. “Harvest season will be in full swing and farmers in every corner of the state will be using the highways,” said Sue Groth, state traffic engineer. “Motorists need to be prepared to encounter slow-moving farm vehicles, especially on rural, two-lane roads.” Between 2010 and 2012, 377 traffic crashes involved at least one farm vehicle causing 13 fatalities.
