DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) — Syria's main opposition group is demanding a swift international response to the use of chemical weapons in Syria. The demand comes following a U.N. report confirming the use of chemical weapons. The Syrian government, meanwhile, is slamming the U.S., British and French foreign ministers, accusing them of trying to impose their agenda on the Syrian people.
MOSCOW (AP) — Russia insists the deal with the U.S. on removing Syria's chemical weapons does not include the possibility of military force in any new United Nations resolution. Still, Russia's foreign minister appears to suggest the issue could be reconsidered if Syria violates the agreement. Sergey Lavrov made the statement today in a news conference with his French counterpart.
WASHINGTON (AP) — It will be awhile before the global economy sees a healthy, robust recovery. That's the opinion of economists surveyed by the Associated press. The economists predict global growth will remain below full health this year and next. A growth rate of 3 percent is generally considered healthy.
