WASHINGTON (TEC News), Sept. 3 – Many news sources across the nation are continuing to cover the recent discussions of President Obama and Congressional leaders. Other sources say President Obama’s decision to call for military strike was supported by many, but Representative Tim Walz released a statement recently asking him to speak with the rest of the state’s representatives.
“I appreciate the Administration providing the informative briefing on the situation in Syria today. As I’ve said from the beginning, the use of chemical weapons is despicable and there is a moral responsibility to defend the defenseless, but we cannot rush into this decision. I look forward to hearing from southern Minnesotans and debating this issue with my colleagues in Congress to make sure the national security of our nation is paramount.”
Last week, Representative Walz joined over 100 of his colleagues in sending President Obama a letter urging him to consult with Congress before taking military action in Syria.
