6th Annual Livestock Festival and a 5K Color Run

MANKATO (TEC News) - The 6th annual Livestock Music Festival and Fundraiser and 5K Color Dash run is coming to St. Peter on Saturday, June 1. The day's activities begin at 9 a.m. with the Color Dash. Participants in the "world's brightest 5K" will begin the race with a white T-shirt and be splashed with color every kilometer. After the race is finished, the activities move to Minnesota Square Park where attendees can listen to free musical acts from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and take part in a "full-festival experience."
That experience includes food vendors, a world market filled with a variety of ethnic items from around the world available for purchase, and an all-day $5 "kid zone" equipped with a petting zoo and bouncing castles. All the money raised during the day's activities goes toward the humanitarian efforts of World Vision. World Vision is non-profit organization that purchases livestock animals for families in desperate need of help. Livestock board member, Rachel Britz, shared a story on how the money raised for World Vision helped a 15-year-old boy and his uncle in Sierra Leone:
