MANKATO (TEC News)-- The number of flu absences reported to the Minnesota Department of Health by Mankato Area Schools has seen an increase in the last week. The factors for determining if the cases need to be reported depend on the type of school and the percentage of students absent with influenza-like symptoms. Dakota Meadows Middle School and Eagle Lake, Hoover, Roosevelt, Kennedy, Bridges and Hoover elementaries have all reported flu absences to the state. Despite the number of absences in Mankato reported to the state, they are nothing to cause concern.
