MANKATO (TEC News) – A 22-year-old Lake Crystal man has been charged with last October’s sexual assault of a 13-year-old Mankato East student. William Edwards faces several counts including 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct. After meeting on Facebook, they talked on the phone and met in the Cherry Ridge apartment complex playground. The alledged victim says she has been drinking from a bottle, he got ahead of it, then things became a “blur” and she became “dizzy.” Edwards admits to the sex but denies drugging her.
