NORTH MANKATO-(TEC News) — The North Mankato City Council turned down a six-story apartment complex that cost about $17 million. They said that it would be "too big and too out-of character" for the area. Residents and contractors were present to voice their case--both positive and negative. Construction can’t move forward without the variances, which are required in multiple areas because the project’s size violates several standards in the city code. Mayor Mark Dehen was pleased with the decision.
