Local Radio Announcer Faces Sex Charges (Update)

NEW ULM (KMKO) – A New Ulm-area radio announcer faces three felony charges for sending several photos and sending several explicit chat messages to a Wisconsin officer posing as a 15-year-old girl.
61-year-old Jon Jahnke of Sleepy Eye later told law enforcement he was a former radio announcer for KNUJ in New Ulm and hosted a morning show on Sam 107 of Sleepy Eye, but his profile was still on the stations website as of Wednesday morning.
It has since been removed.
According to the Wisconsin law enforcement agent, he received an instant message from “justaguy58160” on January 20, 2012.
During the chat, the law enforcement agent called himself “Pam” and said he was just 15.
Jahnke would ID himself as “Jon” and claimed he was 32.
He would send several pictures, one of him in a “formal setting” when he was younger. He also sent a couple sexually explicit pictures.
He also sent two pictures of a Shelby Mustang which was later confirmed to be his.
During a chat the next day he told the agent that he had to get back on the air and that he works for a radio station.
The investigation was later handed over to Brown County Sheriff and FBI investigators.
Jahnke allegedly admitted to investigators to having sexually explicit chat, sending photos including of others private parts, but said he didn’t believe their ages.
