MANKATO-November 27, 2012-(KMKO)- A homestead application should be filed to residents in Blue Earth County by Dec. 15 if these certain things apply to them. If they purchased property in the past year and if they, or a qualifying relative, occupy the property for homestead purposes on Dec. 1 or they, or a qualifying relative occupy a property for homestead purposes on Dec. 1 and the property was previously classified as a non-homestead.
