MANKATO-November 21, 2012-(KMKO)-Drunk driving has been the cause of many car crashes and deaths. According to the Minnesota State Patrol Thanksgiving is historically among the busiest and deadliest holiday travel periods of the year. A survey from 2009-2011 reported 11 traffic deaths — six were a result of a drunk driver. Eight of the 11 people killed were motorists and five were not buckled up and 1,631 motorists were arrested for DWI. State Patrol Spokesperson Jackie Sticha said even though other areas are highly rated DWI areas, extra patrols will be out everywhere:
