Smart Phone Use While Drivng Is Up

MANKATO (KMKO) – A new survey by State Farm says the number of people surfing the web on their smart phone is growing every year.

While it’s a national survey, they are seeing the same right here in the Mankato-area, according to State Patrol spokesperson Jackie Sticha.

According to the survey, from 2009 to 2011, accessing the internet on a smart phone grew from 29 percent to 48 percent, while updating your social media site while driving increased from 20 to 30 percent for drives from ages 18 to 29.
