MANKATO-October 10, 2012-(KMKO)-Mayo Clinic is making it clear that it is not associated with the medicine blamed for the nationwide outbreak of fungal meningitis. Mayo, including Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato, does not purchase an injected medication used to treat low back pain from the Massachusetts manufacturer linked to an outbreak. As an added precaution, all Mayo Clinic Health System sites have removed and quarantined all items purchased from that manufacturer.
