MANKATO-October 8, 2012-(KMKO)-This is Fire Safety Week, a time to get educated about the many ways to prevent fires.  Make sure everyone knows two ways out of your home, inspect fire extinguishers, change the batteries in smoke alarms, test smoke alarms and practice fire escape plans with your family.  Jeff Bengtson, Deputy Director of the Mankato Department of Public Safety Fire Division,  reminds us to be careful with campfires, because dry and windy weather can cause problems.
