No Marriage Debate for North Mankato

NORTH MANKATO-October 2, 2012-(KMKO)-The North Mankato City Council will stay out of the politics of marriage.  Refusing to bow to pressure, the council has refused to take up the debate over Minnesota's proposed constitutional amendment that would define marriage as between one man and one woman.  Mayor Mark Dehen and at least one city council member said the city has no proper role in the debate, leaving the issue to voters in November.  Earlier this year, Mankato joined 12 other cities in passing a resolution against the amendment.
