NORTH MANKATO-September 26, 2012-(KMKO)-The North Mankato City Council has denied a request by a sober house to allow up to eight women to live there.  Belle House houses recovering female alcoholics at its facility on Northridge Drive.  The city council concluded that the current number of six people staying at the home is already triple what would be allowed any other owner of land in an area zoned R-1 in North Mankato.  The council also ruled that the number requested by Belle House imposes an undue financial or administrative burden on the city.
