MANKATO-September 19, 2012-(KMKO)-The Mankato Department of Public Safety is recruiting resident volunteer firefighters and reserve police officers. Resident volunteer firefighters are community members who live at the fire station and staff calls for service in exchange for rent.  Reserve police officers are trained volunteers who assist with emergency calls, patrols, community events, direct traffic and work with technology. Training is provided.  Applications are available online and due Thursday, November first.
