NEW ULM-September 18, 2012-A candidate for the New Ulm City Council has been questioned by the U.S. Secret Service.  Agents visited 75-year-old Ron Larsen after he wrote a letter to President Obama protesting the state government's unemployment policies.  In the letter, Larsen states "I’ve had this nagging feeling that I was put on this Earth for a specific reason. Now I know it was to take down a sitting U.S. president; life doesn’t get any better than that.”  He told investigators he was only expressing his desire to see Obama defeated in November.  Larsen is a former reporter for the New Ulm Journal.
