MANKATO-September 17, 2012-(KMKO)-A special event honoring veterans will take place this week in Mankato.  The American Veterans Traveling Tribute will bring the traveling Vietnam Wall to help us pay respects to those who served and died while serving in the Vietnam War.  The wall will be transported from Blue Earth to Mankato Wednesday, then a welcome ceremony is scheduled for 6:00 pm with the Vietnam Veterans of Southern Minnesota Color Guard.  The wall will be assembled at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial site Wednesday morning and a candle light ceremony will take place at 6:00 pm.  The mobile wall is a replica of the official wall in Washington, D.C.  It will be open to the public through Sunday.
