MANKATO-September 14, 2012-(KMKO)-The Mankato Department of Public Safety Fire Division will conduct rope rescue training tomorrow beginning at 1:30 pm.  Minnesota State University, Mankato has donated Gage Towers as a practice location for officials to use.  Rope rescues help those who need to be moved to medical care or are in areas they can't easily be reached.  All Mankato firefighters receive training in rope rescue.  Firefighters involved in the practice were trained by members of the Federal Emergency Management Association's urban search and rescue team.
