Mankato Council Lets Their Levy Feelings Show

MANKATO September 10, 2012 (KMKO) – The Mankato City Council can lower but not raise the preliminary property tax levy.

Councilperson Charlie Hurd voted in favor of the levy, but is concerned it’s going up when he described what he called “tax shifts” that should lower the levy.

Councilperson  Mark Frost believes the levy should be zero and voted against the preliminary level.

Councilperson Tamara Rovney reminder her fellow councilpeople that there’s a lot more debate in the months to come and the preliminary levy should just be approved.
