MANKATO-September 10, 2012-(KMKO)-A 19-year-old Stillwater man faces charges after an incident in which a Mankato police officer was assaulted.  Gordon Joseph Defiel appeared before Blue Earth County Judge George Herrelson.  He's charged with fourth degree assault of a peace officer and obstructing the legal process/interfering with a peace officer.  He's currently free on bail.
