MANKATO August 27, 2012 – Despite some objections from taxi cab owners, the Mankato City Council voted 6-1 to approve a new ordinance governing the city’s taxi cabs.
 
The new ordinance does many things including allowing existing taxi cab companies a Limited Operation License to operate daily between the hours of 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.
 
The problem is getting people out of bar closing time quickly on weekends.
