MANKATO-August 28, 2012-(KMKO)-The city council, school board and Region Nine will have new chambers and the school district will soon have a new place for centralized registration.  The Mankato City Council has approved going ahead with plans to build new council chambers and a meeting room in the atrium of Mankato Place with the remodeling of the existing council room for the school district. The district will lease the space. The cost of the new council chambers and meeting room is over $466,000 and nearly $148,000 for the new district space.  The council chambers and meeting room will be done first, then the school space. It should be completed sometime in December.
