MANKATO-August 24, 2012-(KMKO)-The Mankato Department of Public Safety will be targeting underage alcohol consumption as the new school year gets underway.  Using a $4,000 grant from the Invitation Health Institute, the department will add patrols, especially on weekends, over the next three months.  Commander Matt DuRose says they will also be cracking down on those who purchase alcohol for minors.  DuRose says the extra patrols have proved to be effective.
