MANKATO-August 22, 2012-(KMKO)-Unemployment in the Mankato area edged up slightly in July.  Numbers released yesterday by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Security puts the Mankato-North Mankato area jobless rate at 5.3%, up from 5.1% in June.  The rate has gone up three months in a row.  The unemployment rate one year ago was 6.2%.
