ST. PETER-August 20, 2012-(KMKO)-The St. Peter Police Department is stepping up its campaign against drunk drivers.  From now until September third, officers will be taking part in the Toward Zero Death initiative.  There were nearly 170 DWI arrests in Nicollet County in 2011.  Of the 1,200 traffic deaths in Minnesota the last three years, nearly one-third were the result of drunk driving.  Three of those deaths occurred in Nicollet County.
