MANKATO-August 3, 2012-(KMKO)-Vikings players may be working hard, but it's a carnival atmosphere as thousands of fans flock to the Minnesota State University Mankato campus to watch their favorite players in training camp. It's an economic boon to the city, with an estimated 60,000 fans expected to visit the city during the three week event. Americinn, which is located across the street on Stadium Road, is sold out, mostly with fans. The hotel is decked out with posters and Vikings shirts for sale. Officials estimate the city will get a boost of about five million dollars in business during the Vikings training camp.
