MANKATO - July 24, 2012 - (KMKO) --The Children's Museum of Southern Minnesota asked the city of Mankato for $250,000 to buy the old "Ember's Lot" for a new home. Executive Director Peter Olson says they have pledges of over $1.65 million and are kicking off a drive to raise the $4 million needed to build the 30,000 square-foot facility. Plans are to launch a business campaign by this September with the group reaching its goal and breaking ground sometime in 2013.
