Mankato (KMKO)-A faculty member at Minnesota State University Mankato has been given an award by the Mankato Area Council of Quality. Shirley Piepho, Assistant Director of Events and Meeting Services, was presented the "Above and Beyond" award in recognition of her hard work. She coordinates many events hosted by MSU including the Minnesota Vikings summer training camp, Mankato Marathon, Thunder of Drums, the Mankato International Festival, regional science fairs and other campus events. In all, Piepho's staff coordinates 27,000 activities annually with 21,000 of those on the MSU campus.
