Mankato (KMKO)-Mankato law enforcement is using two recent burglaries to remind home owners to take a few simple steps to keep their property safe.  A laptop computer was stolen from a home in the 200 block of Victoria Boulevard and cash taken from a residence on Balcerzak Drive.  The thieves were chased away in both cases when the resident woke up.  The Mankato Department of Public Safety, simple steps like locking windows and doors, leaving a light on and using an alarm system can prevent further burglaries.
