Highway 14 Project Unveiled

Mankato (KMKO)-Governor Mark Dayton was in Mankato yesterday to announce plans to widen Highway 14 to four lanes between North Mankato and Nicollett.  The project, which carries a price tag of 21 to 35 million dollars, is scheduled to be completed by 2017 or 2018.  MnDOT Commissioner Tom Sorel outlined the plan yesterday.  The first phase, to be completed by this winter, is to widen the median and put rumble strips in to improve safety.  As part of the plan, the Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths initiative will increase its efforts to educate drivers about safe driving.
