Mankato (KMKO)-Numerous charges have been filed against a Decorah, Iowa man after fighting with police on Sunday. Officers with the Mankato Department of Public Safety were called to a residence in the 300 block of South Fourth Street after hearing a complaint about the safety of a child. Raymond Delagarza told police the mother of his three-year-old daughter was too drunk to care for the girl. After learning the child was being cared for by a friend who was sober, officers told Delagarza that he was too drunk to stay at a hotel by himself. Delagarza insisted that police take him to jail. He proceeded to fight with officers, and continued to fight after being taken to the Blue Earth County Jail. The 28-year-old Delagarza was charged yesterday with one felony count of terroristic threats, as well as gross misdemeanor counts of assault in the fifth degree and obstructing the legal process. He was ordered held pending further legal proceedings.
