Mankato (KMKO)-The Mankato area's unemployment rate rose slightly last month.  According to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, the rate for the Mankato-North Mankato metropolitan statistical area was 4.4% in May.  That's up two tenths of a point from April.  The rate in May of 2011 was 5%.
