Air Spectacular Success

Mankato (KMKO)-It was a hot weekend, but Mother Nature allowed Mankato to play the perfect host for the 2012 Minnesota Air Spectacular.  Officials numbers aren't in yet, but up to 30,000 people from several states were expected to attend the air show over the weekend.  They were not disappointed, as the Blue Angels pilots, the U.S. Army Black Daggers parachute team and other performers performed amazing feats in the skies over the Mankato Regional Airport.  It was the only performance scheduled for the Blue Angels in Minnesota this year.  The Greater Mankato Convention and Visitors Bureau estimated the event would bring in about $5 million dollars for area businesses.  The Minnesota Air Spectacular is a production of Northstar Aviation, the Mankato Regional Airport, the City of Mankato and the Verizon Wireless Center.
