MANKATO (KMKO) -- There will be an update Wednesday on the new public safety center under construction in downtown Mankato.
 
The previous public safety center is being renovated to include both police and fire and a new fire station #1.                                               
 
Public safety staff anticipates the structural work on the inside of the main building should be almost complete, including the installation of the fire apparatus bay.
