Five Injured As Crash Closed Hwy 169 For 90 Minutes

MANKATO (TEC News) -- A car driven-by a Madelia man hit the northbound guard rails along Highway 169 Tuesday afternoon before going through the median and hitting a southbound vehicle head-on.

57-year-old Roberto Guzman and three passengers were all taken to a Mankato hospital.  Receiving minor injuries were 34-year-old Sanjuanita Gutierrez, 18-year-old Arturo Rubaldino and 19-year-old Cruz Rubaldino, all of Madelia

The other driver, 62-year-old Sheldon Helsey of Gillette, Wyoming, suffered minor injuries.
The Guzman crash closed the southbound lanes of Highway 169 on the south edge of Mankato for about 90 minutes.
