MANKATO (TEC News) -- Felony domestic assault charges have been filed against a Mankato man for assaulting a woman while a ten-year-old girl watched.

Anthony John Michel, 29, of Mankato has been charged with a gross misdemeanor for allegedly interfering with a 9-1-1- call.

As police responded to 101 Ahlstrom Road last Friday, a neighbor told dispatch they could hear a female calling for help and it sounded like there was a fight.

When police arrived, the victims described being pulled by her hair into a bedroom and watching Michel allegedly throw a phoe against a wall.

A 10-year-old girl witnessed the fight and the woman told her to leave the house and call 9-1-1 from a neighbors. However, the victim says Michael blocked the young girl from leaving, allegedly pleading for her not to call for help.
