Bail Reduction Denied For Accused Drug Dealing Mom

MANKATO (TEC News) -- A Blue Earth County Judge on Thursday declined a request to reduce the bail for a 26-year-old Mapleton mother arrested and jailed earlier this month for dealing methamphetamine to a drug task force informant.

The attorney for 26-year-old April Valliant asked the judge to reduce her $40,000 bail because Valliant's mother is currently caring for her children and due to alleged migranes and a hand she believes is broken.

Authorities arrested Valliant and a passenger in her car, 20-year-old Graham Aaron Ciesco returning from the Twin Cities to with an ounce of methamphetamine to sell.

The Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force had been follwoing Valliant for several months with the help of an informant who allegedly purched 7 grams of cocaine last November and 3.5 grams of cocaine in late December from Vallient.

Last September, Valliant and caught with drugs after drug task force members stopped a suspicious car after seeing a hand-to-hand drug transaction with a woman in a second car.

Investigations didn't find the suspected methamphatamine at the scene, but found nine small bags of meth hidden in her underwear.
