MANKATO (TEC News) -- Blue Earth County's Medicine Collection Program has been a huge success.
A secure drop box was place in the lobby of the sheriff's department. 140 pounds of unwanted, out-dated, or unused medications have been collected for proper disposal.
County officials had anticipated emptying the box once a month. Instead they've been doing it once or twice a week.
Residents can access the drop box during regular business hours at the Justice Center in Mankato.
