MANKATO (TEC News) -- Former Minnesota State University hockey player Chad Brownlee has released a new Christmas song and video.

(Christmas) Baby Please Come Home is currently the seventh most viewed video at CMT Canada.

In addition he is in the process of mixing his new album this week.

The single "Love Me or Leave Me", a cut off this new album, was released in September.

Beginning in Feburary, Brownlee will tour western Canada opening for Dierks Bentley.

Back in September, Brownlee won the Canadian Country Music Association's 2011 CCMA Rising Star Award.

The British Columbia native played four season for Minnesota State from 2003-2006 and was a sixth round pick by Vancouver in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
