Leads Still Sought In Byro Crash -- Benefit In Madelia Is Saturday

GAYLORD (TEC News) -- The Minnesota State Patrol says they have received no leads in a hit-and-run crash that injured a Madelia man near Gaylord.

John Byro ran into the back of a vehicle on Highway 19, but that vehicle left the scene.

A $5,000 is still being offered for information that helps identifies the driver of the other car.
Byro Has A "Long Road"
Family members say John Byro is "not out of the woods yet" but he's "getting closer."

Over the weekend Byro had two shunts placed in his brain to drain fluid. They also say doctors are cautiously optimistic but has a long road ahead.
Benefit To Support Byro Is Saturday
There will be a benefit on Saturday at the American Legion & VFW in Madelia for John Byro from 5 to 10 p.m.

There will be a free-will donation supper and a silent auction.
