MANKATO (TEC News) -- A rowdy concert by the coverband "Hairball" at the Verizon Wireless Center has resulted in charges against a Belle Plaine man for with fighting concert goers and police.
Mankato police were called to the downtown civic center just before 11:30 Friday night for a report of a man walking around the dance floor swinging and trying to start fights.
When police arrived they encountered an intoxicated 21-year-old Nicholas Schmidt of Belle Plaine fighting with security and yelling obscenities.
Schmidt fought with police and asked for his father as police tried to handcuff him.
A court complaint says police had to use a "mandibular angle pressure point" hold to try to subdue Schmidt.
