Black Friday Smooth Sailing For Mankato Police

MANKATO (TEC News) -- Mankato police say Black Friday was "overall a smooth day."

Mankato Department of Public Safety Commander Deb McDermott today said while seeing a little increase in shoplifting there were no incidents that some other cities saw.

McDermott says they did respond to a call to Mankato Height Plaza for some "unruly customers" just before midnight on Thanksgiving.

But McDermott says police were on the scene for less than 5 minutes for a minor disagreement.

Traffic concerns also proved not to be a problem, according to Mankato police.
